The Mossy roadside on the Cook Creek Forest Service Rd on the way to the start of the Mt. Schofield "Goat Trail"

This is how dark parts of the forest are in mid afternoon.

Getting near the top

A slight miscalculation with a Big root.

All these little willow trees were the only thing saving Burt from rolling down a very steep 70 foot embankment. It was difficult to get my 6ft 2inch 210 pound 72 yr old body out of that cab!

I had a 2 ton hand winch with me, the red item, in my recover kit, along with several cargo straps. The winch easily pulled the truck upright, and the three straps I put on stopped the truck from rolling back over when the winch slipped off the truck as the angle changed. whew!
