This is Burt as it came home, 123,000 kilometers on it, and no dents. A great starting point. 13 inch wheels, 40 HP (maybe) and a 4 speed.

First mod, big tires. Traxion, 8X23R13. 7/8 tread depth, 8 ply. A totally fantastic tire.
The wheels are 8x13 4/110 Yamaha. They have the correct offset and center hole diameter as the stock Daihatsu wheels

After installing a 2 inch lift kit, the front wheels had massive positive chamber. So I cut the top off the strut tower and welded in adjustable chamber and caster plates. Along with adjustable camber/caster bolts which attach the strut to the steering knuckle. Camber and caster can now be adjusted to any setting I need.

The Traxion tires and wheels. Even with the 2 inch lift kit, they will still gently rub the inner wheel well when going to full left or right lock. For street work 20 PSI is the max pressure they can be operated at. In the bush I run the rears at 6-10 PSI, and the fronts at 8-15 psi. I have never had the tire come off the wheel even at 2 PSI.

Front bumper with the first winch. I later installed a 5500 pound winch. The winch sits on top of a receiver hitch. the bumper is through bolted onto a 6x8x1/4 steel plate on the inside of the "firewall". The whole system is very strong.

The first skid plate. This one was built for the oil pan, it is bolted to the engine cradle, and has saved the oil pan from damage many times.
